My name is Alina Badescu, and I am a counsellor providing integrative therapy to adults online throughout South London and beyond. I also offer face-to-face sessions in Tooting, South London for those who prefer to meet in person.

Being face-to-face with a stranger can feel daunting, and reaching out for counselling often takes a lot of courage. You may be feeling overwhelmed, low, or simply unsure where to begin. My role is to offer a safe, supportive space where you can bring whatever feels heavy, at your own pace and without judgement. Together, we can explore your experiences, make sense of what you are going through, and begin to find new ways of coping.

As a fully qualified counsellor, I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and work in line with their code of ethics, ensuring that our sessions are safe, respectful, and confidential.

Finding your way forward

Counselling takes place in a safe space, where you can meet with someone who will listen with sensitivity, empathy, and kindness. Therapy offers a confidential space where you can express your thoughts and feelings openly. To explore. I'm a therapist, but first, a human who knows what pain feels like. I'll meet you where it hurts and where hope begins; I've been there too.

As a counsellor, my role is to provide space and guidance to help you on your journey of self-discovery. Counselling isn't about giving you solutions or advice, but empowering you to make your own changes.

My integrative counselling approach means I draw from different therapeutic methods, shaping our work to fit you rather than the other way around.

Trouble with relationships, anxiety or panic attacks, mood swings, or depression. Many people face difficulties in their everyday lives that can be hard to get on top of. Counselling and therapy give us a set of tools we can use to help gain a better understanding of what's causing these problems.

Working together through counselling, I can help you gain greater insight into the difficulties you are facing, help you understand why you act or react to them the way you do, and see how you can start to make better, healthier choices moving forward.

EMDR therapy for trauma and anxiety

Future Addition

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a specialised therapy approach that can be particularly helpful for anxiety, trauma, and distressing memories. This evidence-based treatment helps your brain process difficult experiences in a way that reduces their emotional impact.

During EMDR therapy sessions, we work with specific memories while using bilateral stimulation. This helps your brain reprocess the experience, allowing you to remember what happened without the overwhelming emotions. EMDR therapy can be especially effective for trauma, PTSD, anxiety disorders, or phobias.

Common Issues I Support

I regularly support clients dealing with anxiety and stress, low mood and depression, relationship difficulties, loss and bereavement, life transitions and identity questions, self-esteem and self-worth issues, feeling "stuck" or disconnected, work-related stress, family difficulties, trauma and past experiences.

Whatever brings you to therapy, you deserve to be heard and supported in a safe, non-judgmental space.From my own wounds, I learned how to hold yours. I've sat with pain—and learned it can soften.
