Initial Consultation
I offer a free 15-minute introductory call where we can get to know each other and talk about what brings you to therapy. There's no pressure during this call—it's simply an opportunity to explore whether counselling with me feels like the right fit for you.
My training is integrative, which means I draw from different therapeutic approaches to create a way of working that feels right for you. I don't believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. I adapt the way I work to suit you, rather than expecting you to fit into a set approach.
I draw from Gestalt therapy to help you explore what you're experiencing in the present moment, Transactional Analysis to understand patterns in your relationships, Person-Centred approaches to create a non-judgmental space where you feel truly heard, and Psychodynamic understanding to explore how past experiences shape your present.
I believe therapy works best when it's a genuine relationship built on trust, warmth, and respect. I don't see myself as the expert on your life: you are. My role is to walk alongside you, helping you listen more deeply to yourself and find your own way forward.

We need to discharge the stress response, complete the cycle, before our bodies can move on. “Home” is the place – physical and emotional – where we can discharge stress without being judged or shamed or told we just need to relax or forget about it. “Home” is where we receive our partner’s “loving presence.” People who listen with a loving presence are calm, attentive, and warmly attuned to the other person. We cannot always control our thoughts, but we can control our words, and repetition impresses the subconscious. We deny , suppress, repress and minimize our trauma to preserve our self-concept. The irony is that by doing so, we set ourselves for repeating the cycle again.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a specialised therapy approach that helps your brain process difficult experiences and traumatic memories. Unlike traditional talking therapy, EMDR uses bilateral stimulation (typically eye movements) to help your brain reprocess distressing memories in a way that reduces their emotional impact.
During EMDR sessions, we work with specific memories or experiences while you follow my finger with your eyes or listen to alternating sounds. This bilateral stimulation helps your brain process the memory differently, allowing you to remember what happened without the overwhelming emotions, physical sensations, or negative beliefs that may have been stuck with it.

EMDR can be particularly effective for trauma and PTSD, anxiety and panic disorders, phobias and fears, depression linked to past experiences, grief and loss, low self-esteem from past experiences, and disturbing memories that feel "stuck." Many people find EMDR helpful when talking therapy alone hasn't been enough to shift persistent symptoms or when certain memories continue to feel overwhelming.
EMDR is an evidence-based treatment recognised by organisations including the NHS and the World Health Organisation as an effective treatment for trauma and PTSD.

Currently, I offer counselling sessions via a secure online platform. This allows you to access support from the comfort and privacy of your own space while maintaining the connection of face-to-face therapy.

In-person sessions are available in Tooting, South London for those who prefer to meet face-to-face.

Each session lasts 50 minutes and provides a dedicated space for you to explore whatever feels important. We typically arrange sessions at the same time each week to create consistency and routine.

This varies from person to person. Some people find a few sessions helpful, while others benefit from longer-term work. We'll review your progress regularly and continue for as long as it feels beneficial.
That's completely normal. You don't need to have everything figured out before we start. Sometimes we begin with just a feeling or a sense that something needs to change.
Yes, everything we discuss is completely confidential. The only exception would be if there were serious concerns about your safety or someone else's, which is very rare.
The terms are often used interchangeably. Counselling might focus on specific current issues, while therapy can explore deeper, longer-term patterns. We'll work in whatever way feels most helpful for you.
Emotions are a natural and important part of the counselling process. Our sessions provide a safe space where all feelings are welcome and there's no judgment about how you express them.
